Using the ribbon interface in Microsoft applications
Dragonsupportsthe"ribbon"menuinterfaceofMicrosoftOffice2010andMicrosoftOffice
2013.(Both32-bitand64-bitversionsofMicrosoftOfficearesupported.)
Theribbonpresentsapplicationfeaturesorganizedintoasetoftabs,includingaHometab
andaViewtab.Thetabsdisplaythecontrolsthataremostrelevantforeachofthetask
areasintheapplication,suchaschangingthefontorzoomingin.
Using the Office ribbon
Tominimizetheribbonbyvoice,youcansay“Minimizetheribbon”or“Collapseribbon.”To
expandit,say“Maximizeribbon”or“Expandribbon.”Youcanalsousetheverbs“pin,”
“show,”“toggle,”“unhide,”and“view”withthoseribboncommands.
DragonvoicecommandsfortheOfficeribbonalsoworkwhentheribbonisminimized.
To open one of the ribbon's tabs
Say"click"followedbythenameofthetab(orclickonthattab).Forexample,toopenthe
Hometab,say"clickHome."
NotethattheFiletabisanexception;toopenit,youmustalsosaythewordtab,asin"click
Filetab".
To click an item on the open tab
Saythenameofthefeatureyouwanttoaccess(orclickonit).Forexample,toapplythe
Heading1styletoyourcurrentlineoftext,say"clickHeading1"(orselectHeading1from
thelistofStyles).
Ifyou'reunsureofthenameofafeature,youcanholdyourmousepointeroverthat
feature'sgraphicuntilthenameappears.
